Taking Shape

Pretty good week. Cabinet boxes have gone from flat to standing pat. Well, almost. They should be in place and secure by the end of the day Monday. Having them there, the work "U" becomes a reality and we get a better sense of the space. This is the start of the rush to the finish line. Not that plumbing and electrical are not important---but this stuff feels a bit more exciting. Should start seeing cabinet door samples pretty quick.

Also this week:

  • Flooring was delivered Friday.

  • HVAC is done.

  • Fluorescent lighting came in to the shop and is being put together. Might be ready for installation this week! Also ordered the pendent lights (pretty cool stuff that we would never have found on our own, but thanks to Anthony we will be putting in a gorgeous brushed nickel George Kovacs chandelier and a hanging white globe that should look a bit like a flying saucer through the window (that will make the neighbors talk).

  • The stucco guys installed all the lathe and are ready to start slapping our exterior on.

  • We bought a sink and fancy spigot today.

So the pace should continue to pick up this week. Expect to see a stucco sample. Maybe cabinet door too. Will try to address the permit issue and get a plumbing inspection. Also will look to find someone to install the floor. Will have the counter top samples in hand---so hopefully we get someone in to make a template and give a final price. Fun, fun, fun.
