Hey, just cuz I haven't been blogging, doesn't mean that the house ain't been-a-rockin'.
Jose got the electrical roughed in.
Scope creep has reared its ugly head in the form of plumbing. Demolition is done in the bathroom and it pointed to some stuff I kinda assumed would be necessary---namely the 120 year old vent stack and nasty grease trap. So, now 2 of 3 bathrooms are ripped open...
But the news is not all bad. I found someone to mill paulope (ipe) flooring for the kitchen to match the stuff we will be using on the deck. That's gonna look fresh.
And I think our lighting order might actually be in... This would be one of the things that pushed the project. In pre-Kitchenistan days Foodprepskia was lacking in both natural AND artificial light. Soon that will not be the case for the area on the other side of the wall. Both the north and south walls (as well as above the light cove) will have lighting coves with fluorescent lights (longer-lasting and more efficient than incandescents---and less flickery than your dad's fluorescents) supplying indirect light for the room (bouncing it off the ceiling) and looking badass. The badass-ness will continue outside where a downlighting cove will continue the inside line on the patio. Those lights will be super bright and energy-efficient LEDs produced locally. Additionally, Anthony has found some fresh pendent fixtures that we will be ordering for the prep area and above the table.
