Please fence me in...and some walls would be nice too

As you know, there's a big hole in back of my house... Now that it is getting cold, it is far more noticeable that there is a hole in the back of my house... But help is on the way. Jeremy and his crew have begun framing the walls on the addition that will eventually enclose the hole on the back of my house... (This should help to exclude Chicago's chilly and bitter wind, "The Hawk" in local terms...)

If that does not do it, the soy spray will. Once framing is done we will get some soy-based insulation blown in that will give an R22 insulation with only 3-or-so inches of coverage! Add batting to that and you have a nice tight little wall that will keep the Hawk at bay, and then some! More on this when it happens.

In the meantime, apparently steel brackets for the bench that will run along the north wall inside and out have been fabricated. We are ever-so-close to ordering glass. Was supposed to happen yesterday. Maybe tomorrow. With an 18 week fabrication time, we are already past borrowed time...ugh. Anyway, above is the most recent iteration of the view out of the addition, onto the elevated patio, through this long-leadtime glass...

Integrated bench is an excellent idea. I love that.

Hope to see this in person next Sunday or Monday...

Thanks Jeff-o---

That bench runs along the north wall of the kitchen and out onto the patio---it is one of the features that attempts to bring the outdoors in... I guess I will write a bit about the high-minded arty concepts behind the design a bit more this week.
