Why did they need insulation for that?

Ahh, the wonders of a camera phone. Kyle snapped this shot before we started putting up the plywood---notice the original 1883 door and window openings with arched brickwork (much nicer than the oddly placed, newer door opening that CDC is looking out from, which is improperly braced and constructed, BTW). Also, notice the stylin' yellow insulation that was placed only in those openings---not anywhere else. Now I understand the source of the wicked winter breezes at the east end of our house!

Hey, here is a cast of characters I will be refering to in these missives:
  • Jeremy - our project manager and carpenter

I'll be talking about those guys a lot. Hopefully in laudatory terms...

I think that the Katrina landscape will be largely cleared when I get home. Jeremy has some garbage haulers working the scene.
